Laptops in India?

I've received a few emails about his question through the website so I thought I would start a thread on it here. The question being; Is it a good idea to take a laptop to India?

I met a few people who carried laptops with them while I was in India most of whom were quite happy with their decisions but others where sincerely regretting it.

What do you think, should one take laptop or should India be enjoyed with out distraction?

Hi Everyone, another potentially stupid question about travelling in India!

So basically, I have a dilemma. I spend quite a lot of time traveling around europe with my wheelie bag whihc I love (and it's expensive), so right now I'm trying to decide between taking that or a traditiobnal backpack? I don't really like carrying my big backpack on my back and will I really be carrying it around that much, surely it will spend most of it's time in my hostel or hotel anyway!?

Has anyone travelled ...

Definitely a place to visit in India is Lonavala, a Hill Station in India that I recommend for every person who visits India. The atmosphere in this wicked place is simply amazing, specially in the Winter.

You can get there really easily from Mumbai Airport and then get the Express train from "Mumbai CST" railway station whihc takes around 3 hours. Probably the best way to go as it's pretty dramatic scenery all the way.

Once you reach Lonavala, make sure you stay at some well ...
